Secondary Schools

ENGLISH

Reading Rep’s Associate Director will come in to your school to enrich your Drama provision or compliment your English provision.

We will work alongside your teachers to tailor the workshops to suit the individual needs of your students. We will bring to life and investigate themes of the texts that you are working on. Our Associate has worked in this way throughout the UK with pupils from the ages of 10-18.  From the GCSE and A Level syllabus list, she has already delivered various workshops on:

  • Of Mice and Men
  • The Crucible
  • A View From The Bridge
  • Macbeth
  • Hamlet
  • Romeo and Juliet
  • The Importance of Being Earnest
  • A Doll’s House

As we create the workshops specifically for each school, we can also deliver sessions on texts which are not mentioned above.

Feedback from staff and students alike, from previous schools, has been fantastic:

‘The workshop allowed our pupils to broaden their understanding of Shakespeare in a dynamic way.’                                     – English teacher at Waingels College, Woodley

‘Definitely boosted my confidence’; ‘I learnt to express myself’; ‘I learnt how to use characterisation’; ‘Shakespeare is a boss’.                                  – Key Stage 3 Pupils

DRAMA

We can deliver bespoke workshops on various drama styles, audition techniques or studies on classic and contemporary texts. We tailor these sessions to your needs, so you can be specific with your requests. We will also offer schools workshops which run alongside the shows that Reading Rep are producing.

We can also offer a career session, with Q&A’s with actors, designers, directors etc.  This could also be used as a resource for Theatre Text in Performance and Theatre Text in Context modules, if useful.

Previous schools we have worked with include:

  • Waingels College
  • Henley College
  • Blessed Hugh Farringdon
  • Oakbank School
  • Leighton Park School
  • Badgers Hill Pupil Referral Unit
  • Reading College
