Shakespeare’s R&J

Adapted by Joe Calarco

A high-voltage, electrifying retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, bringing a fresh take to the tragedy.

In a rigid boarding school, four repressed adolescents unearth a secret copy of Shakespeare’s tale of forbidden love…

What begins as a rebellious laugh soon turns into something more violent. Thrust into the reality of The Bard’s words, parallels between their lives and Shakespeare’s doomed lovers begin to reveal themselves.

★★★★ “The production is a beautifully crafted queer retelling – truly a masterclass in storytelling and audience engagement.” Broadway World

★★★★ “This is a lively and rich-textured show that was a delight to watch.” SpyInTheStalls
