Reading Rep Theatre is an Arts Award Centre and an Arts Award Supporter. All of our staff are Arts Award Advisors – we can deliver Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver, and Gold qualifications.

We want to work with local schools to help achieve or maintain their Artsmark and can do this through various ways that are reflected in the Artsmark’s Quality Principles:

Curriculum Design:

As a company we produce high quality artistic work, and as an Arts Award Supporter we offer a discounted rate on tickets for young people working on their Arts Award. We will also offer pre- or post-show workshops to enable young people to further their understanding of what they have seen and to assist them to critically assess and evaluate the work. We can create bespoke workshops that will compliment what is being taught within the curriculum.

CPD:

Developing teachers’ knowledge and skills. We can work with you to embed drama and the performing arts in your curriculum and assist with the creation of quality teaching resources.

Range of Offer:

Reading Rep Theatre often works in partnership with other creative organisations, giving us the ability to create a cultural programme for schools that is multi-disciplinary. We have access to actors, directors and designers who can offer question and answer sessions for your pupils.

Partnerships:

We can work closely long term with a school to provide artistic support, regular workshops and theatre trips. We can deliver Arts Award to children and young people of all ages, and also can help identify routes into careers or participation in the performing arts.
