The Build Begins…

The new Reading Rep Theatre build has begun and we couldn’t be more excited to share our progress! Reading Councillor for Culture, Heritage and Recreation, Karen Rowland, joined us on site to break ground and kick things off. The new theatre is taking over the site of a beautiful old Salvation Army building built in 1927 on King’s road. We will be opening the theatre in Spring 2021. You can read more about our first step in this journey here!

We’ve reached our target!

We are thrilled to announce that we have reached our fundraising target of £500,000 ahead of our new theatre build. We are so grateful to all the support from our funders and members of the public who made such generous contributions! You can read more in this article in What’s On Stage here and the Reading Chronicle here!

Reading Rep is getting a new Theatre!

We are so thrilled to announce our plans for a new theatre, arts centre and cultural hub for our home in Reading! After Nearly 7 years in our little 60-seat-capacity ‘Black Box’ studio we are upgrading to a fanstic space on King’s Road. It will have the capacity for 158 seats, rehearsal and dressing room areas, and a foyer with a bar!
